THERE IS A MEMORY THAT WILL NEVER END...
There is a day on the Smolensk region’s calendar that unites all its residents, regardless of age or profession. Today, September 25, we mark the 83rd anniversary of the liberation of the Smolensk region from the Nazi invaders.
A commemorative rally was held at the Smolensk State Agricultural Academy to honor the heroes of that historic period. Distinguished guests, faculty members, staff, and students of the Academy gathered at the mass grave of prisoners of war who had been executed by the Nazi invaders.
Speakers at the rally included Irina Fetisova, Advisor to the University Administration and Deputy Chair of the Smolensk Region Civic Chamber’s Commission on Youth Policy, Patriotic Education, and Physical Culture; participant in the special military operation Andrey Boyedov; and a representative of the clergy, Archpriest Georgy Svittsov, Head of the Missionary Department of the Smolensk Diocese.
In their speeches, they addressed the youth, emphasizing that historical memory is the foundation of our future and the resilience of our ancestors an eternal example of courage.
We remember. We are proud. Eternal glory to the hero-liberators!
