DAY OF REMEMBRANCE AND SORROW
June 22 is a special date in our country's history, a day when we remember all those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
85 years ago, peace was broken when Nazi Germany and other fascist countries launched a unified attack on the USSR.
The next 1 418 days became a severe test for the Soviet people, a time of pain, deprivation, struggle, and unparalleled courage.
Today, on Remembrance and Sorrow Day, Academy staff honored the memory of the fallen heroes. At the mass grave of prisoners of war killed by the Nazi invaders, Academy staff lit candles in memory, paying tribute to the heroism of the defenders of the Motherland. As a sign of eternal gratitude and as a symbol of the immortality of the souls of those who fought in the battle, the staff "released white cranes."
Eternal memory to the Heroes. We remember. We are proud.
