Academy faculty, staff, and students, as well as distinguished guests, honored the memory of the heroes and all those who died during the Great Patriotic War and remembered those to whom we owe our present.

Acting Rector of the Smolensk State Agricultural Academy, Sergey Kharitonov, addressed the present with a welcoming address: "Dear colleagues, dear students, and guests of our event! Today we have gathered here to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom and independence. May their heroism inspire us to good deeds, to the pursuit of knowledge and development, and to the strengthening of peace and harmony. Let our memory of these heroes be not only a tribute of respect, but also an incentive to build a better future for our country".

The atmosphere of solemnity and deep respect was enhanced by a touching vocal performance by Academy students.

The event culminated in a moment of silence and a flower-laying ceremony at the mass grave as a symbol of profound gratitude to all those who fell in the Great Patriotic War.

We remember! We are proud! And as long as the memory of our people's immortal heroism lives on, we have a future!
