The event was attended by representatives of the Smolensk Regional Duma, combat veterans, the Academy administration, representatives of the clergy, the military training center, the commander of the "Memory and Honor" search squad, Yevgeny Volotsuyev, as well as Academy faculty and students, activists of the Smolensk Region's "Young Guard," and Vyacheslav's classmates and friends.

Those gathered observed a moment of silence in memory of the serviceman and laid flowers at the marble slab.

Guards Captain Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Starichenkov died heroically on September 10, 2025, in the Shebekinsky District of the Belgorod Region. His name will forever remain in the history of the Academy as an example of courage and loyalty to the Fatherland.
