FUTURE VETERINARIANS HELP CARE FOR ANIMALS IN THE SMOLENSK LAKE DISTRICT
As part of the Cooperation Agreement between the Academy and the Smolensk Lake District National Park, fourth-year veterinary students continue to hone their professional skills.
This week, under the supervision of Kirill Dmitriev, the National Park's chief veterinarian, students assisted in scheduled anti-epidemic work. The future specialists focused on Przewalsky's horses and bison at “the Zubrinets” nursery (Boroviki village, Demidovsky District).
This work is of particular importance to fourth-year students Vladislava Shibaeva and Sofia Kopystyanskaya. Under the supervision of Alexey Garganchuk, senior lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine, they are collecting data in the National Park for their diploma theses.
We thank the Director of the National Park - Chief State Inspector for Environmental Protection Alexander Kochergin, Deputy Director for Territory Protection - Deputy Chief State Inspector for Environmental Protection Georgy Ragonsky and the veterinarian and academic, Kirill Aleksandrovich Dmitriev, for the opportunity for students to grow professionally and for their assistance in scientific work.
