SMOLENSK CUSTOMS OFFICERS TOLD ACADEMY STUDENTS ABOUT WORKING WITH FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS

A meeting of students of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Technologies and Veterinary Medicine with representatives of the Smolensk Customs Office was held at the Smolensk State Agricultural Academy.
The head of the canine department, Roman Nikiforenkov, spoke about his profession and demonstrated the work of canine teams in searching for imitation drugs and paper money in accompanied baggage.
Leading inspectors of the canine department, Natalia Kuvshinova and Natalia Boyko, demonstrated the work of dogs in obedience as part of the general training course.
Chief State Customs Inspector of the Civil Service and Personnel Department Olga Baranova spoke about the structure, areas of activity of the customs authority and human resources potential, as well as about the specifics of the work, available vacancies and employee support programs.
The meeting ended with an informal discussion, during which the students were able to get to know the service dogs better and ask the customs officers all the questions they were interested in.
