SMOLENSK STATE AGRICULTURAL ACADEMY TOOK PART IN THE SESSION "MODERN TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ZOOTECHNICS AND VETERINARY SCIENCE" AT ST. PETERSBURG STATE AGRARIAN UNIVERSITY

A meeting of the section “Modern trends in the development of animal husbandry and veterinary science” was held at St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Savva Nikolaevich Khokhrin.
Rector of St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor Vitaly Morozov opened the event with a welcoming speech. He noted the importance of this section for exchanging advanced knowledge, as well as for finding innovative approaches and technological solutions that contribute to the progress of animal husbandry in modern realities.
The first report of the section was a presentation by Yury Savenko, devoted to an overview of Savva Nikolaevich's research activities. Leading scientists, including academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, research fellows, teachers, young scientists and heads of large enterprises took part in the conference.
The conference was attended by 270 people in various formats: in-person, remote and correspondence. On behalf of the Smolensk State Agricultural Academy, the head of the animal science department, candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor Yulia Kurskaya presented a report on the use of biologically active additives in poultry feeding to increase productivity.
The staff of St. Petersburg State Agrarian University library organized an exhibition of Savva Nikolaevich's scientific works. Despite the end of the conference, all the publications presented at the exhibition are available for review in the University's Scientific Library.
